Joel Goldes’ dialect coaching combines with the actors’ superb training to create appropriate accents....  -- LA Daily News reviewing Robin Hood

I spent the wee hours of the weekend on the phone to London, patched in to GoldCrest Post, coaching my client Julia Ormond in her modified Mid-Atlantic accent for her role as reporter Lisa Howard in Steven Soderbergh's film, Guerilla. The film is being prepped for its world premiere shortly at the Cannes Film Festival, and I got to be a fly on the wall (fly in the ear?) as the actors re-recorded dialogue for scenes in the ADR (Automated Digital Recording) studio. In the scenes we worked on, Ms. Ormond's character is interviewing Che Guevara (played by Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro) about his role in the Cuban Revolution.

I've just begun rehearsals for a musical adaptation of Willa Cather's My Antonia at the Rubicon Theatre, adapted and directed by Scott Schwartz (Golda's Balcony) with original music by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell). The dialects include Czech, Norwegian, German and Italian.

I thought reality shows would put a large dent in my career, but I've worked on more than half a dozen of them, including VH1's I Know My Kid's a Star. My episode airs this Thursday, April 17 at 10 PM, and I may be seen teaching the contestants a Cockney accent (in much less time than was needed). Gruff-voiced Danny Bonaduce hosts, and he and his co-host pull no punches with the kids and their parents (Not suitable for kids). Update: An excerpt from the show may be seen on here; it also includes clips from Black. White. on F/X.
